How it works
askone.me matches you with someone you have not met for an interview. Read their introduction, ask one question at a time, and use each answer to decide what to ask next. You do not need a full outline.
1 · Write a short introduction
Say who you are and mark anything you do not want to discuss. It does not need to be long.
2 · Introduce yourself and ask one question
Read the other person’s introduction, introduce yourself, then ask about one specific detail. If you need help, the question bank can offer a prompt; adapt it to their introduction before sending.
3 · Short or In-depth Interview
Both people choose independently: up to 10 questions in 24 hours, or up to 30 in 72 hours. Ask one thing at a time and let the answer shape the next question. Any question can be skipped.
4 · Either person can stop
A stop button is always visible for both people. The first stop takes effect at once, needs no agreement and no explanation, and the public page never shows who stopped. From three completed exchanges on, what you finished goes to review and becomes a public interview; below three it ends privately and nothing is published.
5 · Keep both voices intact
Before publication, both people can check translations of their own words and choose which exact answer may be excerpted on the small card. The public interview uses a factual title and keeps the original beside any translation.
What automatic processing does
Google Translate provides labelled translations, and AI may only select an existing answer as a small-card excerpt. Neither writes questions, categorizes the interview, tidies or polishes answers, or drafts an editorial title. Problems are handled through reports and human moderation.
Questions people ask
Can I make my interview private afterwards?
No. Public is what you both agree to before the interview starts. What you can do: skip questions during the interview, flag translations, ask for human review on safety, identity-exposure, impersonation or legal grounds, and request emergency hiding.
What if I am quiet or not good with words?
That is completely fine. Short answers, taking time, or saying you do not know are all allowed. Answer in your own way.
What if we do not share a language?
Each person writes in their own language. Automatic translation shows the other person your words in theirs, and the original is always one tap away. Before publication you can flag any translation of your own words.
